Engineering drawings are a universal language

because they are understood the world over, and used to convey information from one person to another like writing or speaking.

 

The difference is that they convey information in a standard engineering drawing format.

 

Dimensions
Dimensions are numerical and are the same the world over. 
Universal geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbols convey additional dimensioning information.

 

Finish Symbols
The finish symbols that indicate the surface texture of the part are also international. They are understood regardless of language.

 

Orthographic projection
An opportunity for miscommunication reading a drawing is the difference between first and third angle projection. That is the presentation of the drawing views. The United States uses third angle and Europe uses first angle projection. An icon in the drawing title block identifies which projection is used.

 

Text
An opportunity for misunderstanding an engineering drawing is text in a foreign language used for additional explanation. The solution is a dictionary. If the drafter knows that the drawing is going to a foreign country, s/he gives special attention to using symbols to minimize the text.

It is far better to discharge one's prescribed duties, even though they may be faultily, than another's duties. Destruction in the course of performing one's own duty is better than engaging in another's duties, for to follow another's path is dangerous.

A novice, a trainee, is not skilled, he falters, fears, hesitates, he is tense , unstable, 

but as the training/ learning matures, he becomes more confident, more sure, a nearer example of manifestation of this ''skill in action'' can be seen in various fields, professionals like, dancers, singers, athletes, sportsmen, executives, poets, speakers, soldiers, mountaineers, also circus experts etc doing fantastic tasks with ease, expertise, without stress, but with a relish in the adventures, physical or mental/ intellectual, exhibiting spontaneous flawlessness just so easily, with no stress  

Speed, feed, depth of cut must be selected properly in accordance with the nature of job, capacity of the machine, -------swadharma

also better to read the maintenance manual-------scripture

be in contact with the maker/ manufacturer--------god

or at least with his local agent/ service center/ technicians/ get trained how to operate, ------guru

clean the machine, remove scrap, lubricate well, regularly, and as per preventive maintenance schedule-------meditation ,pranayam, bath , clean clothes, clean surroundings

this is how a nice product can be generated, without defects, and without harm to the machine

  at last, at last,  at last, 

i found a model  whom i can emulate 

i have found a deity, my god, whom i can adore 

i have found a level which i would like to strive for

i have found an ideal which i would like to actualize

i have found a goal which i would like to reach.

i have found a teacher who can really teach me

i have found a doctor who can heal me

i have found an entertainment in which I can revel

i have found a stream in which I can quench my thirst

that is myself, my own self, that is pure consciousness

….in the sloka ”yaa devi sarva bhuteshu…..mathru rupena samsthitha”

..devi is a goddess, not one particular mother,

nor a statue in a temple,

but it is the principle of mother in all pranis,

whether cat dog monkey human, chicken, bird, elephant, lion

..the principle of motherly care , responsibility, love, tender qualities, patience, in conceiving, giving birth

and protecting, feeding,

teaching skills , play , work, protection ,

cleaning, sanitation, etc.

..which are common features of mother in all pranis

… when i saw a cat attending to her children,

so lovingly , and commitment, against all odds, involving hard work,

i really was thrilled to see mother ”devi”’ in it

……………..that is how devi is eternal ,

all pervading in all beings, sarva bhuteshu,

not localized in time or space or to a specie

…so similarly all gods are particular eternal, principles,

eternal non changing laws of nature governing the universe

   Need of our times is not ''conversion '' but a ''conversion table''

Differences and similarities are due to the presence of ''uniqueness and universality'' that exists in every system, every individual, 

 

however, when one rises to cognizes the inherent universality existing in his own uniqueness, one will be able to harmonize all differences in his perception, no more conflicts"

but once the'' pioneers'' showed the right track, the ''common'' men made maps, 

laid roads invented, vehicles,... without needing to do a ''rediscovery''....but enabled all others to trek and reach successfully and easily and quickly 

 

similarly, to explore more mysteries in spirituality too one need not waste one's life to learn and know afresh what is already discovered, 

the help from the experts makes one to quickly master the fundamentals and graduate to the higher lessons, and prepares one to launch on ‘‘new’’,'' original'' discoveries, and thus more and more novices are enabled to progress rapidly hence the need to systematize the plethora of spiritual paths and findings, ie in short , precisely defining and standardizing, and universalizing is the need 

 

why not

 

‘’Yardstick’’ exactly is the need in spirituality, at least now in this most modern infn technology age 

 

before defining and standardizing fundamental units , L M T length mass time , things were arbitrary, different, some used to measure length with reference to the length of hand, or foot or finger, or guess , and weight by hand feel, or relative difference in articles, also time by just observing the shadows etc but a few men put enough trials / effort, and f p s/ c g s,was made, and then mks,, now rationalized R MKS, or SI units were evolved 

 

first spirituality must evolve as a science, with precise definitions, amenable to theory and tests /practical

 

maharishi mahesh yogi did a attempt in his '' science of creative intelligence '' he has made whole thing scientific and results measurable precisely by modern instrumentation, those who are familiar with TM ,know this,99 names of allah in quran were correlated to the attributes of the unified field ,,.....this was done by one muslim spiritual/scientist

 

ravishankar sri sri has done it in his book  ''hinduism and islam, the common thread''

 

prof hawkins too has made a good attempt in spirituality the basic yardstick is brahman, unmanifest , nirgun nirakar, pure consciousness

 

by using this one can differentiate who is master who is seeker and at what levels each individual is ....exactly like , in education, we know elementary, high school , inter, graduate, post graduate, doctorate levels 

 

in the spirituality to there are the levels jad chethan, jagrut chethan, turia, turiateeth, daivee, brahmi levels, may be corresponding to rishi maharishi. Devarishi,brahmarshi etc

 

none need to change their religions but they will come to know where they are and how far they have to go, 

 

humans are unique and different, but medical/ psychological sciences are developed applicable to all kinds of humans 

 

IQ levels are measurable, health /fitness is measurable

 

similarly this attempt for systematization & standardization of Spiritual must be done on by a committee of top saints 

 

they must define, and a world standard must emerge

 

jesus ''i am the way the life and the truth'' is identified as ''aham brahmasmi'', sarvam khalvidam brahma''

 

''blood of jesus cleanses every sin '' is parallel to ''gyanagni dhagdha karmani, 

 

''blood of jesus is the pure consciousness, not the red corpuscles

 

Icons, idols, allegories are obscuring 

A standard tears off the delusion and makes one know one what he is, where he stands

At any given time there are millions on the path but how many have reached the ultimate?'

i did a study of a few teachings and systems and find there is enough scope to make a table of all religions and teachings and show the equivalents, some sankara teachings are coinciding with marati saints like tukaram , meera etc some with milton, William blake, emerson "

more can be thus harmonized, and assimilated to one’s benefit

one of agenda should be to standardize terminology

 and provide precise definitions for several of the vocabulary that all religions use

also, evolve standards like ISI / ISO and a gradation and eligibility criteria to give a open certification to the spiritual leaders/ gurus

also evolve an conversion table like british system to metric system, like 1 inch =2..54 centimeters, or 1 kilogram =so many pounds .so that all teachings from all the saints and babas are understood by properly ''syncing'' them

and there should be a table like periodic table putting all elements metals, gases, etc in their proper place using certain criteria, so that one is able to understand and know relative worth of each saint/ teachings compared to others' 

and all conflicts must be resolved in an open forum freely fearlessly without inhibitions are secretes 

this is required for new gen not to waste their time and life by groping into the jungle of scriptures and gurus, but to arrive at the proper grip on ''what is all ''

this will be resisted since it dilutes the hold of spiritual leaders on their followers and exposes them naked on their hard earned false position and respect

  Best discoveries were made to avoid drudgery, to work intelligently with least expenditure of energy time resources civilization advanced, with smart men  Shankara cautioned on the futility of debates ''Ghato vaa mrithir pando apyaraunubhi cha dhoomogni rachalaPato vaa thanthurva pariharathi kim ghorasamanamVridha kantakshebham vahasi tharasa tharka vachasaPadhambhojam shmbhor bhaja parama soukhyam vrijasudhi.

This is the pot, no, this is only mud,This is the earth, no , it is only atom,This is the smoke, no, it is only fire,This is the cloth, no , it is only the thread,Can all this debate ever cure the cruel God of death?Vainly you give pain to your throat,By these torrent of words,Instead worship the lotus like feet of Shambu,Oh , intelligent one, and attain supreme happiness" smartly, allowing space for creative imagination  not to be burdened with the weight of waiting for some awards rewards

  

Propelled by his pure original fancy , it may be willy-nilly ,or even silly

some one scribbles a few zig-zag lines on a piece of paper

curious, with great expectation, the man wants to see that great painting , goes to that exhibition and stands in the queue with all the patience, and finally gets a glimpse of it it is his own ''waste paper''

all the art connoisseurs there promptly, and courteously, and sympathetically guide him out of the hall , and advised him to go home and take rest."

  i am so ''great'' that i pointed out spelling mistake done by my teacher

he wrote ''maintainance'' instead of ''maintenance''

he was flabbergasted, and thanked me to have corrected him 

now i can relate this little incident

still i pursued with a civil engineer to check with theodolite and level pole and took him to a vast wide ground 

he too confirmed it was reasonably flat but with ups downs but not curved

i travelled from hyd to delhi in train , and found that train never bent in curved shape the track was also level

i and took a flight to us, i observed carefully from plane found that earth below was perfectly plain flat 

then i took a journey to go to the edge of the earth but pilot got confused, thinking that  plane  was going straight to the edge , but his steering how he turned i did not see,   but we landed in hyd , but he missed the track , though he said that he was going in a straight line, 

i asked him whether he saw the edge of earth 

he looked at me puzzled, and in suspicion . and went

now i want to learn plane driving and go and come back and take all to the edge , but be careful you  should not fall from the edge.

i am taking all this trouble just to prove that Copernicus is not great, but he is only a great idiot, . i knew it .

  We were taught this, i call it seeing things in maximum zoom out, where one finds ok of all, 

the purpose of all spirituality to arrive at ok state

one traveler noticed large gourds for slender creeper, and small fruits for mighty banyan, felt god is foolish 

he was tired slept under the tree, on waking found that on him have fallen a good number of banyan fruits.

he now realized, if banyan had as big fruits as gourd , what would have been his fate!!!

  my definition of and my way to success.

i did study quite a few good books and observed the life and achievements of great successful people. and drew my own conclusions which i share a below

these are my views, and may differ with others, it is ok, not necessary to agree.

i define success as attaining mukthi, moksha, liberation, ultimately

------ within the span of 100 years and start my sadhana quite early in life, 

work diligently on the knowledge and techniques prescribed and taught by guru 

----evolve into higher consciousness swiftly, early, 

------skipping all the other lesser aims wisely or to assign the less priority to invest time resources attention and ------

join eternally with unity consciousness never to return again in a rebirth.

once i define my success, clearly, all my thoughts actions orient automatically, in natural course, and way is clear, nature starts cooperating, and with least effort or compulsions and impositions 

i flow spontaneous to a state with which just my wishes get materialized with least effort, not to bother nor worry in any way on any thing, 

accomplishments like money career profession, comforts, health, behavior, all result in the most suitable proportion not to ever to hanker for them.

Things become so easy and path is so nice, it is just pure happiness absolute play 

life really above the earth plane while in this life.

and soon all mysteries get revealed as open book 

the great thing about it is that all happens in the most favorable way myself not even knowing what is good to me.

so i pursue, i enjoy , i live, smiling

  Attention is the most valuable possession

attention has two characteristics, outward and inward 

outward attention is branching, splitting, widening, , expanding, thinning, weakening, 

inward attention is collecting, uniting ,contracting, thickening, strengthening , 

both are natural attributes , having their application as appropriate—

With appropriate training, one can do multitasking  

Multi-processing simultaneous is the ability of the outward, catering to different needs at a time 

i may be typing, but i am listening to music too now-----

-I said attention is power , it is the ability to channelizing the energy  

eg awareness is split in playing tabala to two hands, 

and the energy is delivered in strong or weak doses on both tabala and baaya 

and at different times in laya, like thali and khali, with more and with less strong strokes  

one learns this splitting of attention ,and in the time frame and gives the various types of thaals, and in madhya laya, druth laya etc  

here he is not uniform or strong in the beam of attention but divides splits breaks, at will weakens it, strengthens it , and with speed . 

when zakeer hussain accompanies a sitar, his ears are receiving, his hands are delivering , some times eyes are at the audience, some times at sitar player, some times closed .

here you see the master artist he is the expert in handling attention , to weaken or strengthen hence the relevance of my word weakening  

eg if he is weakening at thali, then his performance is dull

if he is strengthening at khaali , he is wrong also  

so the art is nothing but mastery over attention and life is art  

1 tasks becomes too taxing, since exhausted / weakened by over-spending, so ,'' stand at ease '' is the intelligent command to get it back again 

 2 the one who has connected with his source can perform without relenting, with the same enthusiasm, here the fountain is open, so spending is replenished continuously, 

hence the joy riders and pilots even workaholics persist in hours of performance  

3 mastery over attention makes the activity self driven automatic, effortless, untiring hence the relevance of the dictum ''karma sukaushalam 

 4 on a painting'/drawing/ any art, value is proportional to the attention given to the detail and the perspective

career growth is dependent on more attentive contribution than just attendance signing  

5 relevant are two phrase

pay attention=spending of our wealth 

seek attention=earning from others wealth 

and such other phrases and so we thank for considered responses 

We must understand this subject nicely  

art of life is art of handling attention  

the more one learns this ''know how '', on the ways and nature of attention, the more powerful one becomes . 

1 the one strong beam of attention from individual being branches and goes out thru all organs of perception and action , and also from every particle of body, like an aura in fact it goes out like the rays from a burning wood , in different quantities from its surface , some in large beams in one direction, and some in small feeble beams, and some with least strong beam in other directions in all beings 

maximum attention goes out thru eyes that is why sarvendrianam nayanam pradhanam  

and the beams of lower intensity goes thru limbs, senses, skin, hair, nails in the hair, and nails it is the least intense , weak 

 the moment one looks at the star, first the attention goes to the star in instant  

and then the signal enters instantly thru eyes so it is both ways , to and fro, in and out going  

1 spending of attention must be economical , should not be wasted  

2 once attention is spent one becomes exhausted and tired 

3 hence for economizing, closing the eyes now and then , when not using , helps 

4 for recharging one must go inward 

 5 hence all our traditions have been to close the eyes, do some meditation, get the system charged and come out to spend again  

 i surmise , , in doing folded hands namasthe, we just reduce the outflow, to reduce thru feet we wear some wooden/leather footwear, paduka, 

6 games for children are to develop multi tasking, by learning handling of awareness thru all limbs 

7dance is an expression of mastery over attention A

professionals usually participate in seminars / debates, and professional journals and explore the subject thoroughly  

also 

great masters like shankara, did enough debates and tarka to the ultimate limit ,  

however, i find mostly masters /  gurus / spiritual leaders do not talk to other masters generally

they like to talk to seekers,/ shishyas / followers, that too selectively, avoiding the smart and intelligent questions ,

they either escape cleverly such '' arrogant hecklers'', 

mainly for fear of exposure of their hollowness in hallow , 

built on the foundation of ignorance / innocence of  gullible masses,

they never really give a clear definite scientific logical response, simply uttering  some vague words for which they themselves are not sure, 

and finally they tend to pass the buck on god whom they do not know.

all this must end

truth wins, stands all tests, 

and just pretensions will not work

we , new incumbents joined an upcoming psu, ECIL with all the freshness, and innocence in pursuit of a job to earn some living, it was in a remote jungle like area 

we all worked with fullest devotion, enthusiasm, with full obedience, 

in total surrender to the objectives of the organization , 

without a care for benefits, gains

there was no trade union, tu no officers association , oa 

organization grew , earned profits, esteem, ceo was pleased unasked he launched on welfare measures ---residential quarters , school, hospital, park, shopping center, training school, transport, roads , bank, loan for bikes and cars, and also informally set up a committee to build a cooperative housing society giving all support to acquire land and develop to own houses ,within no time we became prosperous unimaginably this went on for a few years 

times changed, greed set in, indiscipline increased , tu, oa were formed,

 there were disputes endless, resulting in losses , squeezing the resources, excess staff was sent out on voluntary retirements , business was lost, disgust , disappointment, frustration ruled roost,

so 

in surrender, there is empowerment, 

in challenge , there came decay , degradation"

  i recall a momentary association, decades ago, in design,manufacture of a control desk for isro, in which i had encountered the quality consciousness, scepticism, concern of the senior engineer who came to inspect and approve the item for shipment.

he was so much committed to an isro's project to become a success that i had tough time to convince him on the quality, he going into minute details and trying to find out any possible flaws in the item including its good looks apart from its right ****nction in every detail,not withstanding the good re****tion our unit had.

this gave me a good lesson that any thing cannot be ignored/taken for granted as far as a engg products are concerned. and i watched isro rising from success to success. and see it with a great pride, having seen only a sample of their technical staff with such high calibre.

google''antariksh'' to know more about this pride unit. do not stop at reading the news such as this, to get a balanced view. i do not propose mistakes be ignored, but story is much more

  Divinity descends down on to the shop floor on its own, not needing any one's herding, pulling, pushing, dragging, lifting , with agenda or propaganda, compulsion, force, rules, just like a plant growing, like a flower blossoming on its own , taking what ever the nourishment that is available in the surroundings, even if some one tries to oppose its dawning

Divinity sprouts from within the human, manifests as a deepest need to materialize the noblest aspirations of mind , beyond the needs for essentials, comforts, luxuries, which the person is able to fulfill thru work and remuneration and career growth

I saw its manifestation in many modes in many colleagues, no one compelling/suggesting /requesting /encouraging/ asking/discussing --all silently on its own, coolly unseen on the surface, yet happening continuously and bringing about the inevitable transformation in the men and the surrounding

I saw , no surprise, a few coming to their seat, first open a spiritual book , some put agarbathi to the god photos, some enjoy small talk on divine glories and then go about their normal duties

I saw a few people under ground basement compressor room, meditating, unmindful of its noise,

a few people kept photo under a tree , put flowers and did pooja and share prasada, and relax in each others loving company , sang little bhakthi geeth, share their intimate stories of god grace

A few people go to namaj just outside the factory compound, colleagues irrespective of religion pray allah together

a few underwent spiritual courses in the vicinity. and organised themselves as volunteers, served in the social works in the locality, took up with management, prevailed upon them to officially conduct, and it was a great success every attempt saw a great team work at workplace, a soul relation between bosses and subs , management , silently , not interfering. not encouraging, nor discouraging on the phenomena of pujas, sahasranama parayan, organised by women emloyees, just indirectly conveyed a secrete nod

A few employees meet during morning tiffin in the canteen, and discuss adi sankara, his great works and try to give interpretation on the sanskrit slokas

and during lunch time , in a manager's chamber, a few colleagues do group meditation for 15 minutes out of 30 minutes of lunch sessions

when during long walks in the factory premises, two three employees discuss spiritual mysteries when on some important official work

Another few , in the morning, as soon as they enter the factory compound, take to three rounds of walk along the big compound walls, and pick flowers and bedeck themselves

i have been a witness to this phenomena and wonderful way the god is trying to gate crash the cisf controlled premises, where the incharge of cisf breaks a coconut on every friday in his glass chamber before the photo of his deva

All this is totally voluntary , freely done , all on their own

it is in contrast with the durga puja, officially done every dasara , where participation and celebration decoration is more of a work rather than the devotion, officially under the instruction from supervisors, managers and union leaders , it is more a ritual, an ostentation just we waiting for its quick finish and ready to quit having done with

   

On guru i say only one point to me he is just a spark, momentary , all stories and facts about him , i just keep aside it is me who took that rare tiny momentary spark,  made it in to a just a little fire,  and then made it into a flame,  then a brilliant light,  a wild fire,  a everlasting all purpose divine medium for lighting  cooking  warmth  cleaning  burning  protecting,  and glad to say it is working in me, with me , around me,  in my surroundings ,in my universe with this authenticity i have become a phenomena myself getting flabbergasted at it no claims., no impression creating no seeking any name fame

Personally , am happy being simplest, sleeping on the mat on floor with 3 pairs of clothes my profile is nothing , none knows who i am, what my bio data where i am what things i did what achievements by me , what my email--all is secondary  i do not aspire anything , not after any gains One cannot conclude anything just reading a few casual rants, from me , there is ocean

  Nature's Packaging

 one expert was speaking on materials, methods, preservatives, shatter proofing, labeling and a lot more details, of packaging technology, himself in well dressed, rather well packaged with suited booted coated and tied tight at the neck, ...it was a sulky and sweating day though.

Presentation was nice, he was sincerely teaching what he was told to, by his institute

ok, i was listening and learning.

just a wind blew, some noise from moving branches of trees, distracted me i looked outside thru the window of lecture hall

---now i thought that lecture halls must have windows, to allow fresh breeze and fresh view, new windows of learning.

one look at the coconut tree took me away from lecture, due apology to the faculty, and i was dwelling on the package of coconut by the tree, tender, water-filled, core, with space, may be its own preservative, a hard shell, covered with resilient fiber, with a green skin, hanging on the tree as a bunch, as if a marketing attracting the users, at the unreachable height

at appropriate time delivering to the earth, its unique and single customer, drop testing, proving that the product is safely packed, and handing over, for distributing to the customer in original sealed pack, for use at his own wish now or later after 6 months--but in impeccable purity and freshness--of course, with a limit of shelf life.

mind came back to lecture, teacher was winding up , thanking us all for a patient listening.

i felt i learnt some lessons

thoughts continued, on orange ,mosambi, anar, with mini sachets, packed in to sphere nicely divided by cells, overall with thick skin, with attractive colors.

i dwelled on rice, maize, sugarcane ...endless variety, appropriate technology, nature implementing without a lecture from a institute faculty

''transformational leadership,'' arranged by our ceo, to promote good, positive, supportive behavior, building team work

the result was , the company achieved the much needed turnaround and reached the yatha poorve----previous high levels of performance 

i submit here,  utter necessity of such a transformation in the national scenario suffering with unending divisive tendencies, and conflicts every where on every issue ,

The Vedic Ideal however is 

Nakirdeva mini masi nakira yopayamasi mantrashruthyam charamasi|

Pakshehirapikshe bhi ratrabhi sam rabhamahe|| Rigveda 10.134.7 

Hey Noble men! 

We do not commit violence. 

We do not hurt others. 

We do not quarrel either. 

We of course, chant Vedas and act according to its dictates. 

We even join hands even with straw like men and act fast.

Vedas give us command, 

Mitho vignana upayanthu mrithyam| Atharvaveda 6.32.3 

People who quarrel among themselves become fodder to the death.

Hence, God’s children do not quarrel. 

Then who are God’s children? 

Tehi putraso aditevridu dweshamsi yothave|| Rigveda 8.18.5 

Those who drive away the enemies and know how to keep them away are real children of God.

These are the noble and inspiring thoughts of Vedas on the subject like Unity. Such beautiful thoughts can not be seen in any books of so called religions.
